Betty Davis, Vocals; Larry Johnson, Bass; Fred Mills, Keyboards; Carlos Morales, Guitar; Nicky Neal, Drums. Former Mrs. Miles Davis, the "Nasty Gal" of funk. is an ex fashion model who started singing in the early 60s prior to her Miles Davis (and Jimi Hendrix) affiliations. And even though she and Miles divorced before 1973, Ms. Betty Mabry kept her famous last name and released three fabulously funky discs from '73-'75. Now living in Pennsylvania Betty is happy to be out of the spotlight and despite rumours she didn't died a drug addict years ago. Betty doesn't really sing; she screams. She certainly takes no prisoners. With song titles like "If I'm in Luck, I Might Get Picked Up." she displays her wild-woman approach to funk 'n that makes her albums some of the hardest funk records to find. | ||
