The Brothers Johnson have been described as originators of the sophisticated funk r&b style. George Johnson (Guitar) and Louis (Bass) began playing music together in Los Angeles in the 1970's and during their time together collected 7 Grammy Award nominations with 6 Gold and Platinum LP's.

In 1975 the brothers went into the studio with Quincy Jones which sent them on their way to 6 number ones, 15 Top 40 hits on the r&b charts and millions of records sold. Songs like "Strawberry Letter 23," "Stomp," and "I'll be Good to You" are timeless classics and instantly recognizable to music fans the world over.

The Brothers Johnson sound prooved so popular, that George and Louis' musicianship was requested on many ground breaking albums by artists such as Michael Jackson, George Benson, Aretha Franklin, Herbie Hancock, Herb Alpert, Chaka Khan, Donna Summer, Bobby Womack, and of course many of Quincy Jones' LPs.
