Larry Graham rewrote the vocabulary of the bass while he played with Sly and the Family Stone. Originally a guitar player he turned to the bass temporarily while in a duo with his mother. It was from then he developed his signature Pluck and thump finger picking style which was so revolutionary at the time. Along with his superb vocals he produced a great deal of great songs as Graham central station (named because that's where Sly Stone found him).
