Kool and the Gang
Robert ''Kool'' Bell ( a.k.a. Muhammad Bayyen ), Bass, Vocals; Ronald Bell ( a.k.a. Khalis Bayyan, Trumpet, sax; Dennis ''D.T.'' Thomas, sax, Flute; George ''Funky george'' Brown, Robert ''Spike'' Mickens, Trumpet; Charles Smith, Guitar; Clifford Adams, Trombone ( 1976-present 0; James ''J.T.'' Taylor, Vocals ( 1979-89, 1995-present ) plus about 20 or more others over the years.

Originally as The Jazziacs they were formed by Ronald Bell but by 1969 they changed the name to Kool and the Gang. Formed their own record label, De-lite. Koll and the gang produced funk songs from the late sixties to the early seventies with minimal vocals for lack of a lead singer. This saw the release of tracks that included "Kool and the Gang", "Who's gonna take the weight", "Kool it","Pneumonia", "Dujii", and "Chocolate buttermilk".
